The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is set to introduce a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool, named SMART, for Washington region airports. This innovative system is designed to analyze scheduling and weather data to proactively predict and prevent flight delays. The deployment of SMART is scheduled for next week across the three major airports in the Washington area. FAA officials have clarified that this AI tool will serve as an enhancement and will not replace human air traffic controllers.
