Onshore Windfarm Applications Hit 10-Year High in England

A surge in proposals for onshore windfarms follows Labour’s lifting of a de facto ban, with approximately 45 plans submitted in the year to March.

New onshore windfarm applications in England have reached their highest annual level in a decade, after the government overturned a previous ban in 2015.

According to a Guardian analysis of government data, around 45 applications were submitted in the year leading up to March.
