UK to Offer Meningitis B Vaccine to Young People

Teenagers in their final school year and young people starting university in the UK will be offered two doses of a vaccine to protect them against meningitis B, the government has announced.

This one-off vaccination programme, set to begin in late July, follows recent outbreaks of meningitis B in Kent, Dorset, and Berkshire earlier this year, which tragically led to the deaths of three young individuals.
