The UK has opened its first permanent home for illustration, which is also the largest of its kind globally. This new cultural institution is the brainchild of 93-year-old Sir Quentin Blake, who has contributed his name and a vast archive of 40,000 drawings to the centre. Located in a cleverly repurposed 17th-century former waterworks in London’s Clerkenwell, the museum aims to celebrate the rich history and vibrant future of illustration in all its forms.
