The University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru (UAS-B) has introduced a low-cost technology to farmers for producing biochar, aiming to significantly improve soil health. This initiative involves training farmers in the use of a simple and portable drum technology, which is cost-effective for biochar production.
The project seeks to enhance agricultural sustainability and productivity by promoting better soil management practices among local farmers in Karnataka, addressing both environmental concerns and economic benefits for the agricultural community.
