A long-standing land dispute in Pariyathukavu, near Kizhakkambalam in Ernakulam district, Kerala, has been successfully resolved. Following talks led by the Kerala government, the affected Dalit families are now set to receive five cents of land each within the disputed property, along with provisions for housing.
The government has committed to constructing houses for these families within a year, utilizing funds raised through sponsorship. Until the completion of their new homes, the families will be permitted to continue residing in their current houses. This significant breakthrough was achieved after a crucial meeting chaired by Higher Education Minister Roji M John on Saturday night, where a consensus formula was accepted by all parties involved.
